Vent Filters

Vent Filters

Overview

What is a Vent Filter?

A vent filter is a compact, sterile filtration device designed to protect systems from airborne contaminants while allowing gas exchange. It consists of a hydrophobic membrane (e.g., PTFE or PVDF) housed in a polypropylene devices, commonly used in bioprocessing, pharmaceuticals, and chemical storage.

Applications

  • Bioreactor Venting: Prevents contamination while allowing CO₂/O₂ exchange.
  • Sterile Media Storage: Maintains sterility in tanks during fluid transfer.
  • Solvent Storage Tanks: Filters airborne particulates and moisture.
  • Fermentation Tanks: Controls microbial ingress in beer/wine production.

Why Choose Cobetter Aegivast™ Vent Filters?

Complete Sizes: Available in 13mm, 25mm, 33mm, 37mm, 42mm, 50mm diameter. Compact size for easy integration into ports, tanks, or bioreactors.

Hydrophobic Membranes: 0.2μm PTFE and PVDF membrane, repels water but allows air/gas flow.

High Flow Rates: Optimized for rapid gas exchange.

Chemical Resistance: Compatible with aggressive vapors (e.g., solvents, acids).

Easy to Install: Standard devices and connectors fit most venting ports.

Sterile Methods: Gamma-irradiated for aseptic applications; Autoclavable and reusable: withstand 130℃ autoclave sterilization for 30 min at 130 °C, 20 times.

Regulatory Compliance:

Meet the requirement of USP <87> In Vitro Biological Reactivity Test.

Meet the criteria of the USP <88> Biological Reactivity Test for Class VI plastics.
