Multi-well Filter Plates

Multi-well Filter Plates

Overview

Cobetter Oro prep™ filter plates are used for high throughput screening, analysis, and sample preparation for laboratory analysis. The filter plates are available in two specifications: 24 well and 96 well. The filter plate is made of polypropylene with wide chemical resistance, and a variety of filter membrane materials.

The filter plates are commonly used with vacuum filtration systems or centrifugation setups to separate solids from liquids quickly. They are widely applied in pharmaceutical research, biotechnology, environmental testing, and chemical processing.

Choosing the Right Multi-Well Filter Plates

  • Sample Volume --- deep-well vs. standard plates.
  • Chemical Compatibility --- acid/base/organic solvent resistance.
  • Pore Size --- 0.2µm for sterile filtration, larger for coarse particles.
  • Vacuum vs. Centrifugation compatibility.

Construction Materials of Cobetter Multi-well Filter Plates

Filter housing and receiver plate: Polypropylene
Lid: GPPS
Membrane: PES, PTFE, Pultrix™ XQ Membrane Chromatography

Asymmetric PES membrane provides high flow rate and low protein binding. The PES filter plate is used for aqueous filtration and sterile filtration with 0.22μm sterilizing-grade pore size.

PTFE membrane provides broad chemical resistance. Hydrophobic PTFE membrane is used for filtration of organic solutions and strong corrosive solutions. Hydrophilic PTFE membrane is used for filtration of both organic and aqueous solutions.

Pultrix™ XQ anion exchange membrane. The principle is to modify high-density pure quaternary amine (Q) side chain binding groups in a cross-linked polymeric coating to achieve the separation and purification of negatively charged components. Pultrix™ XQ membrane provides higher flow rates and higher dynamic binding loads for high molecular weight biomolecules such as plasmid DNA, enveloped viruses, etc.
