Cobetter Lifemeta™ ST8H high pressure silicone tubing is a high-quality, cost-effective fluid transfer solution. It can be used to increase the flow rate during the production process and reduce the liquid transfer time. ST8H high pressure silicone tubing is the optimal choice for single-use applications such as TFF, virus filtration, inline integrity testing of filtration assemblies, and high volume fluid transfer.

Features

  • Allows for processing at higher flow rate
  • Full vacuum capabilities on most sizes
  • Flexible, translucent and durable
  • Excellent resistance to compression set
  • Good kink resistance
  • Less particle shedding when cutting

Applications

  • TFF
  • Virus filtering
  • Online integrity testing of filter components
  • High volume fluid transfer
  • Laboratory fluid transfer applications
  • Single-use tubing assemblies

Regulatory Compliance

  • Particulate matter in the product eluent meets the requirements in USP <788> for large volume parenterals.
  • Aqueous extraction contains < 0.25 EU/mL as determined by Amebocyte Lysate, USP <85>.
  • Meet the requirement of USP <87> In Vitro Biological Reactivity Test.
  • Meet the criteria of the USP <88> Biological Reactivity Test for Class VI plastics.
  • Meet the requirement of ISO 10993-4 In Vitro Hemolytic Test.
  • The fluid contact component materials meet the FDA Indirect Food Additive requirements cited in 21 CFR 177–182.
  • Products do not contain animal derived components and are free from TSE risk.
  • These products are manufactured in a facility which adheres to ISO™ 9001:2015 Practices.

Q: What are the applications of single-use tubing?

Typical applications:
1. Filling system (such as the connection between filling bags and filling needles);
2. Chromatography/ filtration system (such as tangential flow filtration, ultrafiltration);
3. Liquid transmission (culture medium, buffer, process liquid).

Q: What are the differences among the three types in Cobetter Lifemeta™ series?

The Pt-cured silicone tubings were developed to meet different applications.

Lifemeta™ STT Pt-cured silicone tubing can be wildly applied to fluid transmission in the bio-pharmaceutical industry and is suitable for most peristaltic pumps. It has good elasticity, tear resistance and pump performance.

Lifemeta™ ST5P Pt-cured silicone tubing is a high-precision pump tubing with a long pump life. Its excellent wear resistance reduces the wear of the tubing wall. The rigorous dimensional tolerance control enables it to achieve high precision and stability in filling applications.

Lifemeta™ ST8H Pt-cured silicone tubing features higher pressure resistance and better bending resistance, making it suitable for fluid transmission under high-pressure conditions. It is applicable to TFF, virus filtration, integrity testing of filtration components, and large-volume fluid transmission.

Q: What are the differences between TPE tubing and silicone tubing?

1. Lifemeta™ STF TPE tubing is compatible with common-used aseptic tube welders and tube sealers, making it convenient and economical in repeatedly aseptic connections and disconnections applications, such as repeatedly feeding or sampling during the cell culture process.

2. STF tubing has lower gas permeability than silicone tubing, making it more suitable for easily oxidized liquid transmission.

Q: How about the the chemical compatibility of Cobetter single-use tubings?

Cobetter STT, STF, ST5P and ST8H tubings have extensive chemical compatibility and can withstand a wide range of acids, alkalis, salts and organic solvents. For certain solvent resistance, please refer to the chemical compatibility section in the validation guidelines.

Q: What is the sterilization method for Cobetter single-use tubing? And what is the shelf life?

1. Both silicone tubing and TPE tubing can be sterilized by 25-45 kGy gamma irradiation or by autoclaving at 121℃ for 30 minutes.
2. The shelf life of sterile single-use tubing is 2 years, and that of non-sterile tubing is 5 years.
